Testimonials - What our partners say

It has been an immense pleasure for me personally and for us as a school to work with Arts Train over the last few years. The opportunities that have been provided for our students have given them skills and experiences that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

The Arts Train projects have been used in the school specifically to support a tailored curriculum delivered to students who may be at risk of becoming NEET, some of the students in this vocational pathway have emotional and/or social difficulties and often lack self esteem, the projects help students form team identities and help them to feel secure as individuals in developing their skills and learning potential.

There has been some remarkable progress with many of the students. All gained something positive from the experience and learned new skills. Many, who struggle to engage in learning and who find simple communication challenging have made huge strides. Communication, through lyric writing and performing, was encouraging; with some surpassing possibly their own expectations. The flexibility of the facilitators meant that each learner could be appropriately.

Visiting the project was great and I thought the session was excellent. We’ve been doing some work on developing a Youth Music quality framework and I cross referenced the visit against this. There are 20 indicators on there and I was able to tick off every one.

I am absolutely thrilled and amazed at the achievement of these five students! It’s been a fantastic journey for them - from initial workshops where they were helped to explore and create their own music, to performing at local venues and schools – and then this, a huge, live performance in front of an audience of 5000 or more – confidently taking the stage alongside their favourite stars! Bishop Justus is very proud of them. We want to thank Arts Train for excellent work.

ArtsTrain’s Music Leaders have brought confidence out of the young people and helped develop them so much. I have observed the staff taking the time to listen and be genuinely interested in seeing how the young people are engaging.

ArtsTrain provides young people with real opportunities to not only develop new skills and grow in creative activities they are interested in; but also provides a platform for them to showcase their talents and develop as young individuals. Our young residents benefit greatly by being able to access positive programmes such as ArtsTrain, which is far more than a diversionary programme and has provided them with opportunities to be involved in events such as The London Jazz Festival and The Super Saturday Festival, which is a great accomplishment.

ArtsTrain engaged 15 young “at risk” boys- many of whom would never had engaged with the Youth Club if it wasn’t for your project. During the sessions I observed facilitators that naturally bonded with the group and provided a nurturing environment for the young men to feel inspired and motivated. Even some of our most introverted young men started coming out of their shell.
