JusB session at BMC Radio

We’ve been working with independent, community based youth charity JusB for several years now. Our most recent project, taking place on Friday evenings, began back in January working with seven young people on a co-creative music project. 90% of participants are from Black African and Black Caribbean diasporas and 50% are from low income families. The focus of the project is around artist development: developing skills in music production, songwriting and performance.

Wanting our group to experience something a little different, we teamed up with Brixton based community radio station BMC Radio.

They were able to gain the knowledge and experience of playing on air - presenting, interviewing and playing music that has inspired them over the years, as well as playing the music that they have been creating in our Friday sessions.

A new string to add to their ever expanding musical bows. Huge thanks to Larry and the BMC team for hosting us and we’re looking forward to more sessions like this!
